Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA) Nottingham, UK

About MUKA

Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA) is a Nottingham-based community organization established to bring together Mangalorean families residing in the UK. With over 35 families in and around Nottingham alone, MUKA represents a vibrant, unified face of Mangalorean identity on British soil.

Our Inception

The roots of MUKA trace back to early 2006 during the Lenten season. Families in the community came together to observe the Way of the Cross, led by Rev. Fr. Alexander Lewis from Kadaba Parish, Mangalore. His pastoral encouragement inspired the formation of an official association that would promote fellowship, cultural continuity, and spiritual growth. This marked the birth of MUKA.

Our Official Launch

MUKA was formally blessed by Rev. Fr. Alexander Lewis on Easter Day, 16th April 2006. The inaugural committee was officially constituted on 16th July 2006 during the first General Body Meeting.

Our founding executive committee is composed of dedicated community members committed to MUKA’s mission:

  • Vice-President: Mrs. Sunita Rodrigues
